Integrative
Somatic Therapy
Welcome
I am glad you found your way here
Most people come to me because something isn’t working the way it used to. Pain that hasn’t resolved, no matter what you’ve tried. A sense of moving through your days without really being in them. Some people arrive with their whole story ready to pour out, and others just have a feeling they can’t name yet. Both are welcome here. However you arrive is exactly the right way.
I’ve spent more than thirty years working with people through touch, movement, and conversation, as a Hellerwork Structural Integration practitioner, somatic counsellor, and educator. If those years have taught me anything, it’s that your body is smart. It’s been adapting and protecting you your whole life, and sometimes those same protections start to get in the way. My work is about helping your system discover it doesn’t have to work so hard anymore.
Everything I offer moves through three doorways: Regulate, Integrate, Awaken. They’re not stages you complete in order. They weave together, shaped by your body, your history, and what’s alive in you now.
Regulate. We start here because deep work can’t happen in a body that doesn’t feel safe. This part is unhurried on purpose. You learn to stay with what you feel instead of bracing against it. The first signs are usually small: a breath that reaches all the way down, shoulders that finally let go.
Integrate. The parts of you that had to separate in order to cope begin to find each other again. Nothing gets stripped away. Your protections earned their place, and over time they can take on new work. Your life starts to feel like one story instead of scattered pieces.
Awaken. When the energy that went into surviving is freed up, it becomes available for living. You start making choices from who you are, rather than from what happened to you.
None of this happens through insight alone. It happens in relationship, in your body, in real time. I can’t do this work for you, and you don’t have to do it alone. We do it together.
Whatever brings you here, welcome. I’d love to meet you.
Nothing goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.

Healing as a Journey
This work is something I've lived, not only studied. My own healing didn't come in one breakthrough. It came in layers, over years. Some were obvious as soon as I looked at them. Others were buried so deep I didn't know they were there until they surfaced, usually when I least expected it. Each layer needed time, attention, and honesty. None of them changed because of a technique alone.
Those years taught me what I now build my practice on: you can understand your patterns perfectly and still be stuck in them. Insight is a starting point. Real change happens when what you understand lands in your body, in how you breathe, how you carry yourself, how you are with the people you love. That's when it becomes real.
What I Offer You
What feels like brokenness is almost always a pattern. Patterns are learned, most of them early, and usually for good reason. At some point they kept you safe. The trouble is they keep running long after the danger has passed.
These patterns don't live in one place. They run through five levels of who you are: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and energetic. And those levels don't work separately; each one shapes the others. Chronic pain in your back is a physical experience, but over time it can settle into a belief: I'm not supported. I have to carry this alone. That belief tightens the body further, strains your relationships, and quietly narrows what you think is possible. It works the other way too. A belief formed early, that support won't come, that you have to hold everything yourself, can live in your back for decades before you ever put words to it.
This is why I work at the root rather than the symptom. If we only release the muscle, the belief pulls it tight again. If we only talk about the belief, the body keeps holding its old shape. Integration means working with all of it together, so a shift in one level can hold in the others.
Together we go into the layers of your experience, honestly and at your pace. All of you is welcome here, including the parts that learned long ago to stay quiet or small. We work with what shaped you, with respect for why it formed.
How We Begin
There isn't one path to healing, because no two people carry the same story. In our first session we'll sit down together and look at what's bringing you in, what you've already tried, and what you want to be different. From there we choose what's right for your healing, whether that's Counselling, Hellerwork Structural Integration, Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy, or Functional Medicine. We begin with what's most important to you.
Attending to the root takes time, and I'll be honest with you about that. The patterns you're carrying took years to form, and they rarely resolve in a session or two. But the time you invest goes to the source, not just the surface, and that's what makes the change last.
Sometimes one approach is all you need. Often it takes more than one. What comes up in counselling can be worked with in the body through Hellerwork. Deeper inner work can be supported with functional medicine, so your body has what it needs. Sometimes we weave it all together. We find out as we go, and we adjust as you change.

We all have Several Things in Common
You are a human being with a body. You carry a nervous system shaped by everything you have lived, and like most of us, you have known experiences that left their mark. Pain, injury, or hardship that interrupted your growth and held you back from the fullness of who you are meant to be.
Life asks a great deal of us, and stress finds its way into even the most ordinary days. It does not stay in one place. It moves through every layer of you, body, mind, heart, spirit, and energy, and what begins as a passing moment of overwhelm can settle in and stay long after the moment has passed.
Maybe this feels familiar. Maybe you long to feel more settled in yourself, at home in your own skin, safe, connected, and sure of who you are. So many of us are carrying far more than we were ever meant to carry alone. You were never meant to figure it out by yourself.
This is where our work together begins. We turn toward your body as a place of intelligence, not only of symptoms, and we listen. The body speaks in sensation, in breath, in the places that hold on and the places that have gone quiet, and it tells the truth. Drawing on somatic, body-centred practice and a meeting of ancient understanding and modern neuroscience, we follow what your body has been holding and what it is ready to release.
There is no rushing this. Your nervous system learned its habits for good reasons, and it lets go the same way it learned: through experience, in relationship, with enough safety to try something new. We build that safety together. Session by session, your system discovers it can soften, and you begin to inhabit your body more fully, both in our work and in the life and relationships you are returning to.
My hope is that you leave our work reconnected to whatever makes you feel most alive. That your body becomes a place of ease rather than struggle. That you find steady ways to settle yourself, build relationships of real meaning and belonging, and step out of simply surviving into a life where you can truly thrive.
“Since attending sessions with Sequoyah, my mobility has increased, my confidence in my own emotional stability is solid and I feel a peace and ease that wasn’t present before. Working trauma out of my body was exactly what I needed and Sequoyah is excellent at facilitating this. I have been able to let go, both physically and emotionally, of things that I previously held so tightly and debilitatingly in my body. Sequoyah’s compassion and non-judgment, along with her deep understanding of the muscular and nervous systems creates a space for true and lasting healing. She has been an amazing listener, a skilled Hellerwork practitioner and a gentle and kind guide for my healing journey. I really cannot speak highly enough of her knowledgeable approach to healing.”
